ORTLIEB-Warranty

The ORTLIEB warranty, limited to five years, is a voluntary warranty provided by the manufacturer. It grants additional rights independent of the rights granted by consumer protection laws. Should a product be replaced within the warranty period, the date of first delivery continues to apply to the five-year warranty period.

This worldwide, free of charge warranty of five years from delivery refers to material defects and processing errors. Scuff marks, holes and cracks caused by the customer's own fault are not covered by the warranty. Claims for defects due to normal wear and tear, improper use, non-observance of the assembly instructions, third-party intervention as well as due to improper storage are excluded. No warranty is given for damage due to improper care and improper use. As a rule, however, such damage can be repaired at cost price.

Consumer Protection Law

Important: The provisions of the ORTLIEB warranty, which is limited to five years, do not apply to claims arising from statutory consumer protection rights. These statutory rights are not limited by the warranty. Thus, the benefits under the five-year limited ORTLIEB warranty are intended to supplement and not replace the rights granted by consumer protection laws.

If a product is defective, consumers may in particular claim the rights under §§ 434 et seq., §§ 474 et seq. of the German BGB (German Civil Code). Consumers can choose whether to claim performance under the ORTLIEB warranty, which is limited to five years, or under their statutory consumer protection rights.

The first point of contact for warranty claims is always the specialist or online dealer with whom the purchase contract for the product was concluded. This warranty is subject to the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Transform your bike in no time at all from a lightweight bike for sporty tours into a transport bike for shopping and commuting – this way you stay completely flexible. Fifteen seconds is all it takes to mount the practical luggage rack and only five seconds to remove it again. The struts with a diameter of 10 mm support a payload of up to 20 kilograms. The Quick-Rack is of course suitable for use with all of our fixation systems so that you can combine it with any ORTLIEB bag. Thanks to the two hanging levels and a platform, you can also use and fasten panniers and a basket at the same time. The optional mudguards make sure that you keep dry and clean in bad weather too.

Maximum flexibility

Thanks to its versatile mounting options, the Quick-Rack can be mounted in a variety of ways to fit almost any bike.

Does your bike have M5 or M6 threaded eyelets? Then mount the Quick-Rack directly on the frame with the supplied snap-in knobs.

If your bike has a thru axle, you can replace it with the optional Thru Axle M6 connector and attach the Quick-Rack directly to the axle.

How can I find out which Quick-Rack is suitable for my bike?

The easiest way to find the right model is through the Quick-Rack overview in our online store. There, you can see which model fits your bike. Our Quick-Racks can be mounted on all bike models that allow one of three mounting options: direct mounting, a seat stay adapter, or a Thru Axle. They can also accommodate tires up to the maximum size.

Quick-Rack Light: Ideal if you only need side bags and value the lowest possible weight.
Tire size: up to 29" × 2.35" (direct mounting or seat stay adapter) or 28" × 30 mm (Thru Axle)
Load capacity: 20 kg, weight: 440 g

Quick-Rack: Ideal if you need a platform on the luggage rack and can mount it via direct mounting or seat stay adapter. Axle mounting is only possible to a limited extent.

Tip: If your bike has threaded eyelets (M5 or M6), you can mount the Quick-Rack directly or with the seat stay adapter. For bikes with Thru Axle, you need the Thru Axle M6-Connector.

What is the difference between the Rack Three and the Quick-Rack?

Quick-Racks are removable and ideal if you want to use your bike flexibly. They can be mounted or removed within seconds and leave your bike clean and free of permanently attached parts.

The Rack Three, on the other hand, is firmly bolted to the bike and carries loads of up to 30 kg. Its sturdy construction is designed for long tours or daily commuting.

How easy is it to remove and reattach the Quick-Rack?

Very easy. After the initial setup, mounting takes about 15 seconds and removal about 5 seconds.

Can the Quick-Rack only be used with ORTLIEB bike bags?

No, you can also use bike bags from other manufacturers as long as the bag hooks fit a tube diameter of 10 mm. For the Quick-Rack XL, the hooks must accommodate a 12 mm diameter.

Can I mount the Quick-Rack on a carbon bike?

Yes, as long as no seat stay adapter is used, the Quick-Rack can also be mounted on carbon seat posts and carbon frames with M5 or M6 mounts or via the Thru Axle M6 connector axle.

How securely does the Quick-Rack sit on the bike?

Thanks to its sturdy aluminum construction and secure quick-mount system, the Quick-Rack sits firmly and without wobbling on the bike, even on rough terrain. The XL version provides additional stability with its 12 mm struts and carries up to 27 kg.

Can I attach a child seat or dog basket to the Quick-Rack?

Child seats and dog baskets cannot be used with the Quick-Racks. Transport baskets are possible as long as the maximum load is not exceeded.

Can the Quick-Rack be mounted on full-suspension mountain bikes?

Yes. Thanks to the pivoting mounting points, any Quick-Rack can be used on bikes with a suspended rear triangle. Check the suspension travel while stationary to avoid collisions.

Is the Quick-Rack compatible with bike trailers?

This depends on the mounting method. The trailer hitch must not be mounted together with the Quick-Rack swivel bearing on the axle. With direct mounting or when using the Seat-Stay Adapter, the Quick-Rack can be used with a bike trailer if there is at least 17 mm of clearance between the hook and the hitch and the hook can fully open.
