ORTLIEB-Warranty

The ORTLIEB warranty, limited to five years, is a voluntary warranty provided by the manufacturer. It grants additional rights independent of the rights granted by consumer protection laws. Should a product be replaced within the warranty period, the date of first delivery continues to apply to the five-year warranty period.

This worldwide, free of charge warranty of five years from delivery refers to material defects and processing errors. Scuff marks, holes and cracks caused by the customer's own fault are not covered by the warranty. Claims for defects due to normal wear and tear, improper use, non-observance of the assembly instructions, third-party intervention as well as due to improper storage are excluded. No warranty is given for damage due to improper care and improper use. As a rule, however, such damage can be repaired at cost price.

Consumer Protection Law

Important: The provisions of the ORTLIEB warranty, which is limited to five years, do not apply to claims arising from statutory consumer protection rights. These statutory rights are not limited by the warranty. Thus, the benefits under the five-year limited ORTLIEB warranty are intended to supplement and not replace the rights granted by consumer protection laws.

If a product is defective, consumers may in particular claim the rights under §§ 434 et seq., §§ 474 et seq. of the German BGB (German Civil Code). Consumers can choose whether to claim performance under the ORTLIEB warranty, which is limited to five years, or under their statutory consumer protection rights.

The first point of contact for warranty claims is always the specialist or online dealer with whom the purchase contract for the product was concluded. This warranty is subject to the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany.

The Handlebar-Pack Plus closes the gap between bike trip and bikepacking. This is because the waterproof handlebar bag can be used with all separately available handlebar brackets according to the intended purpose and your personal preference. The outer mesh pockets attached at the side offer you the option of taking an additional bottle or stowing the things you need to access quickly such as keys or smartphone. The tried and proven roll closure allows for easy loading of this practical bag while an integrated zippered pocket keeps the contents well organized on the inside. Once you’ve reached your destination, the shoulder strap with carabiner attachment allows you to conveniently carry the Handlebar-Pack Plus with you. The PVC-free bag made of abrasion-resistant Cordura fabric is of course produced sustainably in Germany. PLEASE NOTE: The handlebar mount is available separately and not included with the bag.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the Handlebar-Pack, Handlebar-Pack QR and Handlebar-Pack Flex?

All three models are waterproof and designed for bikepacking but differ in access and mounting system.
The Handlebar-Pack is a classic handlebar roll that attaches to the handlebar with straps, ideal for a sleeping bag or sleeping pad on longer trips.
The Handlebar-Pack Flex adds a fixed adapter plate for handlebar mounts and internal plastic reinforcement. It can be used flexibly with the Mounting-Set QR or traditional handlebar mounts.
The Handlebar-Pack QR also uses the adapter plate but comes with the Mounting-Set QR included. It is not a handlebar roll but a narrower bag with a top roll closure and mesh side pockets.

Can I attach additional equipment to the outside?

Yes, the Handlebar-Pack Flex features compression straps on the outside. This allows you to securely attach lightweight items such as a jacket or sleeping mat within easy reach. The Handlebar-Pack Flex also has four integrated hooks on which you can safely attach the ORTLIEB Accessory-Pack to further increase your packing volume.

Can I mount the Handlebar-Pack Flex on a carbon handlebar?

If the Mounting-Set QR is used for installation, the bag can also be mounted on carbon handlebars thanks to the included protective caps.

How securely does the Handlebar-Pack Flex sit on the bike during rides on rough terrain?

The Handlebar-Pack Flex stays securely in place even on rough trails thanks to its solid adapter plate and internal plastic reinforcement. An additional fixation to the head tube provides extra stability. This ensures the bag stays firmly and flutter-free on the handlebar, even on bumpy terrain.
